AIRPORT

The closest (and only) airport if you’re arriving by plane is Recife/Guararapes International Airport (REC), located in Recife, the capital of Pernambuco (and Lyly’s hometown).

We’re planning to arrive in Recife early that week, and if you’re able to, we’d love for you to do the same. Recife has amazing food, great bars, beautiful beaches, and lots of culture, making it the perfect place to hang out, explore, and spend time together before heading to Praia dos Carneiros.

We may also plan a casual hangout on Thursday night for anyone already in town, just a relaxed meet-up to grab a drink or a bite together (details to be confirmed).

On Friday morning (November 13th), we’ll travel with our families from Recife to Praia dos Carneiros. Since many of our relatives will already be in Recife, we’ll coordinate group transportation from the city to the beach.

We’ll have shuttles available for anyone who needs a ride, and we’ll share more details about timing and logistics closer to the date. The drive from Recife to Praia dos Carneiros takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

Where to Stay

Just a heads-up: the wedding venue itself isn’t a hotel. While there are a few on-site bungalows, those will be reserved for close family and us. Guests will need to book nearby accommodations. To make things easier, we’ve put together a curated list of hotels and resorts options in both Recife and Praia dos Carneiros/Tamandaré, which you’ll find below.

Visa Information for International Guests

Important note for most gringos (aka, foreign nationals): most of you will need a visa to enter Brazil (an electronic visa is sufficient). This applies, but is not limited to, citizens of the United States, Canada, and Australia.

You can find more information and apply for the E-Visa here: https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/

NOTE: You'll need a valid passport, a digital photo, and proof of funds (bank statements showing at least U$2,000 - hey, we didn’t make the rules =/). Processing can take up to 10 business days, so we strongly recommend applying as soon as possible, or at least one month before your departure date.
